Doctoral school information

A course of the European School on Metamaterials operated by the Metamorphose Virtual Institute will be held on October 14-15 in conjunction with the Metamaterials'2011 Congress .

The course will present a unique opportunity for students and young researchers to get exposure to the latest advancements in the field of metamaterials and to meet the leading experts in this explosively developing field. The lectures will be delivered by key speakers of the Congress.

The topic of the school is:

"Engineering applications of metamaterials" (including microwaves, THz,  optics, and acoustics)

The school course will be mainly focused on the key aspects of metamaterials and related concepts that make them important for the device engineering in the different areas, ranging from acoustics to optics. Comprehensive lectures will take into account the widespread backgrounds of the audience. The spirit of this course is to highlight the practical aspects of metamaterials, rather than the theory.

The students willing to earn 0.75 credit as the result of attending the School will be required to prepare a report on a part or all the lectures given in the School, which must be sent to the School organizers not latter than by October 31st, 2011 (further details of the requirements will be provided during the School).
