CST develops and markets software for the simulation of electromagnetic fields. Its products allow you to characterize, design and optimize electromagnetic devices all before going into the lab or measurement chamber. The extensive range of tools integrated in CST STUDIO SUITE® enables numerous applications to be analyzed without leaving the user-friendly CST design environment and can offer additional security through cross verification. CST’s customers operate in industries as diverse as Defense, Telecommunications, Automotive, Electronics, and Medical Equipment.

EMET (Engineering Metamaterials) is a Consortium constituted by Spanish Universities and Institutes involved in a coordinated project of the CONSOLIDER Ingenio 2010 Program of the Spain MICIIN (CSD2008-00066). The main scientific and technological aim of this project is to encompass the new knowledge generation and the focused application development around metamaterials concepts by means of outstanding and complementary technological capabilities (micro-machining and nano-fabrication). This will allow demonstration of scientific and technological challenges in the metamaterials arena for both electromagnetic (microwave, THz, and optical frequencies) and acoustic waves. Novel approaches to the design of super-lenses, super-prisms, cloaks, antennas, filters, etc., are being under consideration. Of course, a clear motivation is present in order to look for applications in wireless communications, medical imaging, sensing, security, aerospace and defense, etc. The CONSOLIDER program has allowed joining the complementary forces of the best Spanish teams in this field so that the research activity program will give rise to a significant step in the research quality and in the knowledge and technology transfer to the industry.

IOP Publishing is a world leader in scientific publishing and the electronic dissemination of physics. Our expanding portfolio includes a number of exceptional journals, magazines and websites across many scientific, technical and medical disciplines. We were the first to publish all of our journals in electronic form. We have continued this reputation for innovation with the full digitization of our complete Journal Archive in 2002, and with the introduction of web products and services for the STM community, including http://physicsworld.com, http://medicalphysicsweb.org, and now http://IOPscience.iop.org.
IOP Publishing is a not-for-profit society wholly owned by the Institute of Physics, a scientific membership organization devoted to increasing the understanding and application of physics.
